BMBF-Workshop “Urban/Vertical Farming”
Berlin, March 21 - 22, 2013
The 2-day BMBF-Workshop on “Urban/Vertical Farming” will take place in downtown Berlin from March 21 - 22, 2013. Venue will be the RAMADA Hotel Berlin-Alexanderplatz.
On day 1 the agenda will include presentations and a panel discussion on visions and available facts on urban as well as vertical farming - both on a national and international dimension. One keynote speaker will be Professor Dickson Despommier from Columbia University, New York, who has received considerable media coverage for his ideas on vertical farming (http://www.verticalfarm.com/).
On day 2 the workshop aims at the identification of “Urban/Vertical Farming”-areas that provide practical research opportunities for Germany. In order to achieve a more precise picture of the actual research demand the event will be completed by a moderated communication session.
Registration Period Expired
The registration period has already expired. If you are interested in the results of the workshop, please get in touch with the PLANT 2030 Managing Office.
Who may participate?
The BMBF-Workshop will have the character of a scientific conference. Thus - apart from invited guests - the event will be open for an audience from academia as well as private industry with a comprehensible scientific background considering the workshop theme.
Conference language will be English.
If you like to present your work in the field of urban/vertical farming, you are welcome to bring a poster to the workshop. Please submit an abstract for your presentation on this website. You can find it under "Abstracts" on the left side menu bar.
Unfortunately room for poster presentations is limited. We may have to close the opportunity to submit new abstracts (and posters). The opportunity for poster space will be given on a "first come - first served" basis.
